Power cash called
King Country Energy has had to make a call on its reserves twice in recent months to pay for major capital works. Just over $1 million was transferred in April and a further $500,000 transfer was approved at the May meeting of the board in Turangi for investment in projects that are expected to have a better rate of return than the bank. Much of the money has been required to fund the reticulation of the Turoa Skifield. The board was told capital line works, the Karioi power scheme investigations and the purchase of Turangi Appliances were also funded from capital.
