Bridge

Brian Eades and Ron Martin didn't fare too well at bridge last week and they are reported to have rigged this week's draw ensuring they got good partners. Those people sitting North must have thought it was their birthday with the abundance of high card points they got all night. Co' n Cox and Ron Martin sitting NorthSouth on table 1 got the most out of their cards and finished first with 58.5% (117 PTS). Second, and not too far behind, were John Eades and Jim Cranston with 53% (106 PTS). Beverly Cox and Brian Eades played the better defensive game sitting East-West and finished on top with 57.5% (115 PTS). A couple of good doubles by Eva Hansen meant she and her partner Bob Tumataroa secured second place EastWest with 54.5% (109 PTS). A total of 25 boards were played over five tablcs.
