Introducing Raetihi's new policeman
Raetihi's new policeman Stuart Ngatai took up his position last week. Constable Ngatai has been in the police force for over nine years first at Auckland Central and then at Takapuna on the North Shore. Constable Ngatai's tribal origins are from the Rotorua area. Along with wife Tracey and daughter Nicola, Constable Ngatai has come to Raetihi as they consider the quality of life is better in a rural area with more space and less crime. The outdoor activities available in the Waimarino appeal to Constable Ngatai who is and enthusiastic amateur
fisherman and hunter. Last year he played rugby for North Shore seniors and hopes to continue playing rugby while in Raetihi. Constable Ngatai • hopes to become part of the community and wants people to feel that they can approach him and talk anytime.
