Plans for local garage

Changes are in the wind for Ohakune's Clyde Street service stations. Owners of Ohakune Tyres and Energy Centre Warren Swain, Bruce McDonald and Christine Reynolds are working on plans for their Clyde Street/Raetihi Road garage. They have bought the building which now houses Joce's Flowers

and, once they have helped her move to her new location later this year, they plan to demolish that building, part of the present garage, and double the size of the forecourt and build a similar sized showroom, about where their tyre bay is at present. The aim of their plans is to provide better access and through-put at the garage. The truck

stop will be moved to past the workshop bays to aVoid present congestion problems. As part of their plans they are closing Cedar Service Station soon and moving their account customer system across the road. They will reopen Cedar to help cope with the busy winter months, with their redevelopment plans due to start in October-Novem-ber.
