Ruatiti bridge access studied
Investigations are to be carried out into the legal aspects of a bridge in Ruatiti, which provides access to wilderness areas in the valley. The bridge is on private land and the council heard last week that the owners have questioned the council's right to demand that access to the public be maintained. But the bridge was built and maintained by the previous council and serves a legal road. Cr Ken Malcom told the council he believed the road has a good fut,ure in providing access to a popular area, and that access should be maintained. A
