Jumping rope for heart

Raetihi school held their jump rope for heart on Friday 10 May. It was a sponsored fundraising event for the Heart Foundation. The juniors had their jump rope between 1pm2pm with all children skipping for an hour under the watchful eyes of teachers and parents. They skipped to rhymes doing a variety of steps. Best jump ropers in the juniors were Carey Donaldson, Donna Summerhays, Michelle Fredricksen and Phelicia Brown who all won skipping ropes for their efforts. There was also a poster competition to promote the Heart Foundation for the juniors. Nicola Leary and Joel Corbett came first equal with Jana Kui second and Jodie Haitana third. These winners also won skipping ropes. The intermediate syndicate held their jump rope for heart between 2pm-3pm, with Wayne Metekingi, Tony McLean, Kelly McLean and Emma Forster being the best jump ropers.
