Harvesting weeds

• Recently there has been much to do about the eradication of Pinus Contorta on Ministry of Defence land. Just across the road DoC is also trying to control Contorta within Tongariro National Park amongst other places. So why then isn't much being done about the hundreds of hectares of mature seeding Pinus Contorta planted within the Karioi state Forest. These trees which are the source of the infestations on both sides of it are simply being "harvested" at a set rate as if they weren't even a noxious weed. More government untouchability? Because the government planted them they can't be weeds is that it? Or money talks louder than sense.
