Raetihi quizzed on business future
The Raetihi Promotions committee have sent questionnaires to 63 businesses in Raetihi asking them about their views on the future of the Raetihi business centre. The questionnaire is a result of ideas discussed at a public meeting earlier this year.
Businesses are being asked what they think about: • having an elected committee to work closely with the district council, take an interest in town planning, coordinate businesses and possibly to take control of the town assets such as the swimming baths and town hall to help for the benefit of all. • The possibility of an investment group run along the same lines as a building society with
monthly payments, shares, dividends and financing. • That an investment group would create productivity within the town and create new jobs. The group would buy old buildings for demolition selling off recoverable materials with the intention of building a new shopping complex and relocating businesses.
