Jason Howe says hello to his winning turtle at the Ohakune Primary School pet day last Wednesday. The turtle won the prize for the widest smile on the day - nothing to do with the fact it was a wet and grey day for the other pets! The wet weather may have kept some outside pets away as the parade was held under cover, but there were plenty of pups, kittens and cats and fish friends.
