Senior citizens meet

The annual general meeting of the Ohakune Senior Citizens was held last Wednesday with a good attendance despite the pouring rain. Elected officers for the coming year are; President Ethel Allerby, Vice President Barney Conlon, Secretary Nina Hays, Treasurer Bernice Cochrane. Next week the club has been invited to Taihape Senior Citizens for lunch and entertainment and many other interesting trips are planned. The club has an appli-

cation to the Tclethon Trust in their 'Celebration of age" held last year and the answer came this week with a very generous donation which was much appreciated by club members. The club calls on anyone who may have suggestions on places of interest for visits or who would like to speak to the group on their trip or hobby, to get in touch with the President. The group meets in the Lions Den on first Wednesday each month and any new members are welcome.
