Local Polocrosse players in NZ championships

Two teams were enj tered in the championships on the weekend .The women' 's team had great success to reach through to the semi finals to play Northland and got beaten by only five goals. Northland came out the eventual winners, who played King Country in the final. Local players to represent the Wanganui - Waimarino association played superb polocrosse with Enid Windle having only 17 goals scored around her all weekend. Enid played with Kay Nitschke and together with a Marton

player scored 40 goals in total. Virginia Mathews showed confident ball handling skills and playing defence position also had a limited

number of goals scored around her. In the mens team who are now ranked top of the 3rd division, Jim Hyland showed excel-

lent combination passes with Paul Kinder to show some fast goaling. John Smith playing good controlled polocrosse taking alot

of loose ball up to the goal area. The last polocrosse carnival to be played is the veteran's at Kaitieke this weekend.
