Changes at Elders helm
BY GAIL IMHOFF Last month Kevin Corcoran took over from Jerry Trebilcock as manager of Elder's Pastoral in Raetihi. Mr Trebilcock, who has been the manager for the past six years, is moving to Elders' wool department strengthen the field representation and provide a better service by being more available to clients. Mr Trebilcock will not be to the area as in his new job he will cover the Waimarino as far as Waiouru and parts of the Wanganui and Taranaki areas. Mr Trebilcock has 18 years experience in the wool industry and will be available to help local farmers with technical advice and hogget and ram selection. To this end Mr Trebilcocok will be working with the Wool Board and Frederated Farmers running field day's to help wool growers with shed preparation and how to prepare wool to meet the market. Mr Corcoran has come
to the Waimarino from Warkworth and as a stockbuyer over the years he used to buy stock in Raetihi to take back to the north. At present he is settling in to his new position and getting out to meet El-
ders' clients. Mr Corcoran said he realises it is a difficult time for farmers and stock firms alike but feels that, like the farmers, Elders has an investment in the area rather like a partnership. As a personal view Mr
Corcoran would like to see more regular saies in the yards rather than at the farm gate as he said it provides more competition and brings outsiders in to buy. The saies are the focal point of the farming community, said Mr Corcoran.
