Third time lucky at Raetihi pool

It was third time lucky for the pupils and teachers at the Raetihi Pri-

mary School when after two postponements the school swimming sports

were held 011 1 1 March. The junior school enjoyed their novelty events such as 'submarine' and 'nose and ball' at the school pool in the afternoon, while the intermediate and senior syndicates held their sports at the Raetihi Public Baths starting at 11.00am. The advertised diving was not held as some of the divers had only arrived home that day from Wellington where they had been competing in the National Age Diving Championships. The swimming results are; junior girl Margaret

Mowat; runners up Linda Graves, and Deborah Donaldson. Intermediate girl Yvonne Cribb; runner up Lorissa Marumaru. Senior girl Gisela Bauer; runner up Rora Cribb. Junior boy was Keiren McDonough; runner up Clay Winter.

Intermediate boy Steven Hawira; runner up Joel Gray. Senior boy George Taura; runner up Andre Jensen. The winner of the parents versus pupils relay were the parents. The winning house was Gold with 80 points then Blue with 73, Green 52, and Red 28.
