Business shoot entries down

Team entries were down on previous years at the fifth annual interbusiness shoot run by the Waimarino Small-

bore Rifle Club over the last week. Most of the 11 teams of four shooters from local businesses took

part in the shoot on Sunday 3 March with the final teams shooting on Thursday evening. The local Police team

of Bob Evans, Peter Gardner, Wayne Streeter and Greg Phillips won the competition with a score of 349.2 followed

by the King Country Power Board team of Bruce Thompson, Pat Goldfinch, Craig McGinnis and Dougal Campbell second and The Mugs, Mike Craig, Russell Munn, Robin Haugh and Nigel Ruki came third. The top individual marksman of the shoot was Constable Peter Gardner with a score of 94.1 out of a possible 101, second was Greg Windle with 93.3. This is the second consecutive year that the Police team will hold the trophy. Each member of every team was given a $2 Instant kiwi ticket.
