Health Manager farewelled

Waimarino Health Care Centre manager Eve Rush got a taste of her own medicine at her farewell afternoon tea at the Waimarino Hospital on 6 March. Magaret Martin, acting co-ordinator Waimarino Health Services, presented Eve with a badge and placed a bandage and chocolate fish round her neck. The fish was presented on behalf of the staff at the hospital in recognition of Eve's habit of presenting staff with a chocolate fish when they had done well. Other speakers in-

cluded Dorothy Scarrow who welcomed everyone and talked about Eve's time at the Waimarino Health Centre and her contribution during the change to a Rural Health Centre. Ruth Jensen, manager of the Taihape Rural Health Centre and Margaret Bennett, on behalf of the Pink Ladies, also spoke and wished Eve well in Wanganui. Public Health Nurse Helen Pocknall presented Eve with an outdoor table set made by Ms Pocknall's husband Mark Hewitt on behalf of the Rural Health Centre staff and Health Watch Committee.
