Kakatahi polocrosse Six one-Chukka (three members) polocrosse teams competed on the weekend at Mananui. Waimarino players who showed some strong polocrosse were Kay Nitschke and Enid Windle who along with their Manawatu player made their way to the final, winning 10-nil to Putaruru - Tirau. Paul Kinder, Harvey and Lyn Godfrey and Virginia Mathews all showed great ball handling skills in their consecutive teams. Two new players, Kelly Godgrey and Warren Nitschke, experienced their first polocrosse carnival, each gaining valuable experience in the C grade. Richard Koorey played some good steady polocrosse and his horse came out the winner of the best carnival horse. The team for the Roke Trophy to be held at Otorohanga this weekend was named including local players Kay Nitschke, Enid Windle and Paul Kinder.
