Mountain visitors
Whakapapa ski field visitors this summer were up slightly on last year in number, to a total of 4765. This was an increase of 32 visitors to the area during the period when Ruapehu Alpine Lifts run two of their chairlifts for sightseers' access to the upper alpine region. The summer lifts operation period was from 15 December until 17 February.
