Waimarino riding club news
The Waimarino Riding Club met on Thursday 7 February with the main discussion centred aro'und a North Island seminar which is to be hosted by the club at Waiouru on Queen's Birthday Weekend. Grade (Riding) and Grooms exams will also be sat and time also set aside for social activities. A further meeting will be held on Tuesday 26 February to draw up a schedule and estimate costs. The Club's $100 note raffle was drawn and won by Mrs Helene Godfrey, and the club extends thanks to everyone for
their support. Two members, Mr Jim Frost and Mrs Evelyn Cooper recently competed at the Masters Games in Wanganui in showjumping and dressage respectively - the events being run in age groups. Both won ribbons. Evelyn Cooper also rode in the trek on Wednesday over farmland and through forests with a barbecue half way which nicely broke up the five hour trek. The dressage demonstration that evening by May Wilson of Sanson, riding Oliver at the race course was a highlight before the drive home.
