New Mill house blessed

The Karioi Pulp Mill's new amenities block was blessed in a ceremony performed by Maungarongo Marae Kaumatua Mathew Mareikura and a group of Maungarongo Marae people yesterday morning. The pre-dawn ceremony was watched by a small group of mill staff and some of the mill's neighbours, including members of the Atihau Incorporation. The ceremony, called Tae Te Kawa began with the sending of messengers to various parts of the Winstone's Mill for the blessing of the whole mill site.
