Waimarino Hospital's long-standing meals on wheels service to the community's elderly is, in 1991, still providing an efficient successful service thanks to some dedicated volunteers. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are three special days of the week for Waimarino residents on the meals-on- wheels scheme as they herald the arrival of a hot lunch and often for the less ac-
tive, a vital communication link with the outside community. Ohakune area co-ordi-nator Colleen Munn is hoping to see new volunteers joining the roster alongside existing long-serving volunteers. Depending on numbers, volunteers are required to deliver meals only a few times a year. Interested individuals may contact coordinator Colleen Munn by phoning 58453.
