Pledge system devised for Winter Games fund raising

The Winter Games, planned for Ruapehu and Ohakune and the surrounding area for this year needs financial support from local people and a Ruapehu South Business Association member has come up with a scheme whereby people can pledge financial support depending on how much sponsorship the organisers gain. Games organiser Andreas Hefti said he needed local support before he could convince commercial sponsors to become involved, while locals wanted to see the sponsorship before they committed themselves. RSBA member Gavin

Moore's scheme would see businesses pledge an amount per dollar of sponsorship monies raised, so Mr Hefti could approach sponsors knowing there was local support for the Games. Turn page 2
