Penstock painting tender

Kawerau firm TBS Coatings Ltd have been awarded the contract to paint the penstocks at the Kuratau Power Station. Six tenders were received and the board accepted the advice of consultants Tonkin and Taylor on which tender to confirm. Work starts on February 13 and is expected to take 21 days. Kuratau Lake will be lowered as part of the shutdown and this will provide an opportunity for snag removal. The lake level is expected to be at the lowest level around February 20. Mr Till said those who may be affected by the lake lowering should call the King Country Electric Power Board in Taumaranui for full details.
