More than 2150 permits have been issued during the spring and summer months. The infomation -gathered using hujiteiV diaries is beginning to provide DoC with valuable information on the immense hunting effort of both local and visiting hunters in the conservancy. The area covered includes the Kaimanawa Forest Park, Tongariro National Park, Tongariro Forest, Erua Forest, Rangitaiki Forest and the

Lakeshore Reserves. As an incentive to hunters all returned diaries will be entered into a prize draw. Prizcs iniclude free helicopter or fixed wing transport into the Kaimanawa and/or Kaweka ranges; sportings goods and free accommodation.
