Last Wednesday's Civil Defence exercise at Ohakune Primary School was a big hit with children of all ages. Here, a mixture of senior and junior school try their hand at erecting a bivouac using "bushman's tools." Local Civil Defence personnel were on hand to offer advice, and in one instance, to rescue a tribe of amateur bushcraftsmen whose dwelling fell down around their ears!
