Champions of golf championship
Three Waimarino golfers set the standard of play at last Friday's Champion of Champions tournament played in the Waimarino. Almost 70 competitors from the Manawatu and Wanganui
regions played in perfect conditions, with numerous personal bests attained during the event. Waimarino golfer Pauline Mowat finished first in the Silver division with the best net score over 36 holes.
Another Waimarino competitor Barbara Dempsey was the champion in the Bronze One Division and runner-up for the gross score. Local lady Donna Herewini competing in the Bronze Two Division finished well with a score of 71 net.
