Health Board seeks logo
The Manawatu - Wanganui Area Health Board needs an identifying symbol and is offering a $1000 prize for the best logo submitted from the
public. Entries close for the competition on 14 December and the winner will be chosen by a panel of judges.
Nigel Wyse, assistant general manager, corporate services said the board wants people of the region to have an opportunity to submit
their designs, and that a commercial artist will take the selected logo and develop it into a commercial form. "We want to raise the profile of the board and its services," said Mr Wyse. "When the public sees the logo we want them to be assured our same high quality service is being delivered uniformly throughout the region." He said the logo should be simple and not include the board's initials and should reflect the caring role of the board, focussing on the total health of the whole community. The signif-' icant Maori involvement in the region should be represented, he said. The competition is open to anyone. The logo will be used on stationery, signs, uniforms and advertising. The board, which has been in existence less than a year, is currently using temporary letterheads and has no common identification. Entry forms are available from the board's offices, from libraries, council service centres and schools. Entries received without a form will still be accepted provided they include the entrant's name, address and telephone number.
