Waiouru primary School recently enjoyed holding a parade to celebrate Book week. Both the senior and junior schools participated, with the children and teachers dressing up as their favourite book characters. Winners from the senior school were: Boys - Akuhata Tai. Girls - Melody Cross. Highly commended were Malia Alabaster, Brent Howard, Anna Barclay, Marina Wallis, Teresa Gillice, James Beech. Winners from the junior school were: Boys - Michael Fulcher. girls - Sahra Cross, Highly commended were Jessica Fulcher, Lewis Petterson, Skip Rosendaal, Mahia Gilbert, Michael Clayton. Many of the costumes were very well thought out, bright and creative and the judges commented that they found the judging difficult due to the high standards.
