Power Subsidies

• In reply to Mr C K Olsens letter of 16th October. The letter refers to cross subsidies and price rises. For a typical domestic customer using 7700 units annually the facts are as follows - all figures include GST and are for one years electricity: 89/90 domestic rate $599: 90/91 domestic rate $627: 90/91 commercial $1087: 90/91 industrial $1330. This is a simplistic analysis but the trends are obvious. The domestic total rises by 4.85%. This is the first rate increase for eighteen months.
