School management seminars to be held for trustees
Two seminars for Waimarino and Waiouru school boards of trustees are to be held next month. The aim of the seminars is to introduce a series of booklets on boards of trustees which has been prepared by an education group task force. The booklets cover management and governance of schools, financial management, personnel management and delivery of educational objectives. Raetihi principal Doug McLean, who is to conduct the seminars, said the booklets provide clear guide-lines that can be used to fine tune systems and help solve some of the problems faced by boards of trustees and schools. One seminar will be held in Raetihi on 12 October and one in Ohakune on 18 October.
