Road works seminars planned

Workshop meetings with council officers, community board members, councillors and also interested members of the public may be held to look for solutions to some of Waimarino's road problems. At the last Waimarino Community Board meeting the board recommended that such meetings be arranged. Board member Winston Oliver suggested the idea, saying there was a general feeling

among Waimarino people that the area's roads were going backwards. He said the problems could be with staff, money or the unusually wet winter, but that there are many people who may have ideas to help. Cr Ken Malcolm, who heads the council roads committee, said he would want only constructive comments from participants and that people who attended such a meeting just to complain would cause the meetings to be a waste of time.
