Ohakune Art Awards entries match American art exhibitions but young New Zealanders put quite high prices on their works, said awards judge Shona McFarlane from Wellington in announcing this year's prize winners. Premier Award winner was Wanganui artist Kay Palmer s oil painting "Fernlea Interior", one of 140 paintings from 84 artists entered in the 12th annual competition. The award is worth $2000 in prize money.
