Cyclone breezes in
Arriving in the Ruapehu area this week is a familiar group but with a new sound - the Cyclones. The band is now a four piece with the main vocals coming from the mouths of Dave McArtney and Harry Lyon. Now there's more Pink Flamingos, Coup D'Etat and Hello Sailor favourites and some rock and blues classics. Harry Lyon on guitar and vocals hails from Hello Sailor, the Legionnaires, the Pink Flamingos, Coup D'Etat
and contributes songs like 'Lying in the Sand', 'Dr I Like your Medicine', and 'You Bring Out the Worst in Me'. Dave McArtney on Guitar and vocals is one of the country's top song writers with 'Guitar Black', 'Virginia', 'Is That the Way' and 'Remember the Alamo' to his credit. He's played with Hello Sailor, the Legionnaires and the Pink Flamingos. Wayne Bell is on drums and vocals having played with When the Cat's Away, Midge Marsden and Mark Williams. Tony McMaster on bass and vocals met Harry in Beam, a pub circuit band. He went on to play with Hello Sailor, Allister Riddell and Red Alert.
