Telethon on Saturday
The Telethon venue for this weekend is the QE II Army Memorial Museum. Because of a TVNZ Crew visit about 1.00pm. activities are planned to commence as soon as practical after midday Saturday, 1 September. A list of likely activities cannot be compiled because no groups have advised their intentions. One entertainer Sam Hing has
confirmed his availability. For the TV theme it is hoped senior citizens will accept a served lunch at the Museum which the Lion's Club will prepare and co-ordinate. From about 2.00pm. to 8.00pm. discos are to be run for all - pre-schoolers to early teens - then all attention will focus on the Museum, from start
to finish. A large TV is to be available for viewing in the Cafeteria and video's will be available in the Museum Theatrette for the children. Tea, Coffee and eats will be available all night. Phone numbers, for Telethon Pledges are, 56921 and 56924. Bobby Vine Waiouru Telethon Coordinator
