Raetihi & Ohakune land values drop 20 per cent

Raetihi and Ohakune land values have reduced iby about 20 per cent, Valuation New Zealand has found. Valuation New Zeal&nd are currently revaluing Ohakune and Raetihi townships as part of the 1990 revaluation of the Ruapehu District and managing district valuer Mark Johannsen said market evidence to date shows the situation in the two towns is similar. He said capital values show a slight reduction on improved properties of around 5 per cent. The towns were previously valued as at 1 July 1987 and the new valuations will be gazetted as at 1 October 1990. Rangataua and Waiouru re-valuations will start next month, said Mr Johannsen.
