Federated Farmers Chooses New Leaders

Delegates to Federated Farmer's National Conference last week chose Owen Jennings, 44 year old Karamea dairy and beef farmer, as their new president. Mr Jennings had been an office holder in the Federation for 25 years, the past three as senior vice president. He replaces retiring president, Brian Chamberlin. Huntly dairy farmer and former junior vice, Malcolm Lumsden, won the senicfr vice presidency. Graham Robertson, an arable farmer from Methven, Canterbury, was elected to the junior vice presidency. Mr Robertson was previously the chairman of the Arable Section of the Federation, a position now held by Stuart Collie of Southland.
