Junior soccer grows
Sunday 1 July Waiouru hosted some junior players from Taumarunui for a morning of soccer for all age groups. There was some fine soccer played by all who turned up, even though the weather was not the best. Junior soccer in Waiouru is growing in strength and with player of the days awards being supplied by Mcdonald's restaurant in Palmerston North, gives the boys and girls some incentive each week. A day's coaching was to be held on Wednesday 4 July to help improve already developing skills. So far four boys
have been selected to play for the Tongariro under 13 rep teams playing in Kaikohe northland during the first week in the school holidays. The club can accommodate more children and Ohakune players are invited. Games are played every Sunday 1.30pm at Hamilton Field. Thanks are extended to all parents who help each week to make milo and wash shirts, plus a special thank you to the Waiouru milkman Mr Murray Fitchett for supplying milk every Sun- . day.
