No deposit, no return

Ski shop owners really care about their equipment and cringe when they see people skiing on the Ruapehu crystal glider rocks. But Sports Country proprietor Murray McNeil slipped up recently and got caught among the ranks of the rock hoppers! The Skiing detective (er, constable) Greg* Phillips dropped in to the Sports Country ski hire last Thursday to return a pair of skis he'd found up at Turoa just before they were*' about to be run over by a ski twner car. Murray was ex£eptionally overjoyed to see** the planks, which had staff suspicious. It turns out he was the one who had left them on the field but had conveniently left out telling anyone.
