Hard working rider rewarded
Raetihi Pony Club member Rachel James won the King Country award, the Singapore Rosette. The award is given to a deserving member not gaining high honours. Rachel is 14 and has been riding for five years but this has been her first season on her horse Wave Rider. Rachel and Wave Rider hope to complete a lot more one day events next season with the major aim being to
get into the Waimarino Teams which will compete at the Timberlands North Island teams even later next year. Both Raetihi and Waimarino have held their Annual General Meetings, with the following officers being elected: Raetihi; Head Co-ordinator - Nicky Williams, President - Alison McGregor, Secretary - Patty Smith, Publicity Cindy Langdon.
Waimarino; District Commissioner - Nicky Williams, Head Instructor - Evelyn Cooper, President - Lorraine Taylor, Secretary-Trea-surer - Jill Evans, Publicity - Cindy Langdon. Waimarino Pony Club will soon be losing one of their most valued members. Tania Taylor is the most experienced rider in the Waimarino area and has represented W aimarino and King Country many times. She has competed suc-
cessfully at New Zealand Pony Club champs, Timberlands and Dressage Championships. She has also represented New Zealand in an Inter-Pacific competition. She has been a great help to the club and a good influence for the up and coming riders. She will be missed by everyone but Waimarino Pony Club wishes her all the best on her travels overseas.
