Board to plant trees

King Country Electric Power Board will plant a tree for every tree it insists needs to be felled, in appropriate circumstances. That's the result of the first suggestion to come to the board under its new staff suggestion scheme, and was approved at the June

board meeting held in Taumarunui. General manager Peter Till said the replacement tree would come from a board approved shortlist and be planted in a position acceptable to both parties. He envisaged the cost to be under $500 a year.
