Waimarino Dart Club members decided last year to form a dart adjunct, with only a few members showing interest initially. This has changed however, with 20 new members to join the club with the start of the new season. Club nights are held every Monday at 7.30pm, with members . playing four dart boards. Regular competitions are run against such groups as Winstone Pulp International, Ohakune Club, Owhango, and Ohakune Hotels, with all nights a resounding success. The club is now looking at starting up a local inter-club competition on a weekly basis. Teams will comprise of six players and all local clubs and organisations are urged to join. Interested bodies may ring the Waimarino Club to register. Dart Club results for Monday 7 May: Winners Alan Zeus, Barry Drinkwater, Irene Araitanga, Tony Donghi. Highest score: Greg Windle (140). Highest finish: Barry Drinkwater (66). There were three teams registered for the competition.
