RAETIHI PEDESTRIAN CROSSING NO GO
A pedestrian crossing on State Highway Four, near the Raetihi Baths seems unlikely to become a reality, despite the number of young children crossing the road during summer. Mayor Garrick Workman put the idea to the Waimarino Community Board at their last meeting, but Area Manager Don Sattler said it is virtually impossible to be successful in applying for a pedestrian crossing on a state highway. Another board member suggested a children crossing site at least be erected, which the AM agreed to look into.
