Ohakune's water treatment system installation contract should be put out for tender in about three months, according to Area Manager Don Sattler. He told the Waimarino Community Board that a few factors were yet to be investigated for the Health Department, with some meter readings and some water testing still to be carried out. The community board would have some input to a submission to the Ruapehu District Council and then it would be up to the Ruapehu District Council to let the project out for tender. it possibly would have been turned down said Mr Sattler. He said most of the available funding went to local authorities applying for waste water projects. which will soon become ineligible for funds.
