Quiet start for Waiouru school
The start of the year for the Waiouru Primary School has begun very quietly for School staff and for the children.
The principal of the Waiouru Primary School, Tauri Morgan, said it will be a very challenging year for his staff and the Waiouru Board of Trustees with the Tomorrow's Schools concept being fully implemented this year. Mr Morgan said that
he hopes that parents will get involved in the activities of the school for the Tomorrow's Schools concept to . be effective. Mr Morgan said he has advertised some teaching positions in the Education gazette and won't know the
outcome until applications from interested parties are received. Mr Morgan said that a considerable amount of money was made available to the school for this year's budget however it may be some time yet before the school will feel the full effect. School enrolment has dropped. Only 40 new children were enrolled
into the school and this may reflect the current situation of soldiers being posted or being released from service. The class size average for each department this year is between 2025 children. School planning and settling children into their classes is the main aim for the school staff this month and teachers are Turnpage6

From page 5 looking forward to an exciting year. Circulating around the schools within the local region is a pamphlet encouraging parents to attend a workshop in Wanganui. The workshop is an eight session introduc-
tion to the 'Tough Love' philosophy and support methods. It is aimed at those parents and families who feel they need support and help with regard to their children and teenagers. For further information contact the Waiouru Primary School 56-580.
