VOLLEYBALL WINTER LEAGUE

Winter volleyball is to start up in Waiouru after a break of nearly 18 months. The volleyball competition will start mid-April and Chief organiser Physical Training Instructor Sergeant Pedro Vaney said that the response from teams wishing to participate has been very positive and to date six teams have already indicated their interest in the volleyball league. The volleyball will be run along the same lines as the basketball league. Pedro Vaney said that the volleyball will be a 'social affair' with the teams being of mixed composition, three men and three women. There will be a small cost involved for the teams participating but Pedro has indicated that this cost will cover the purchase of prizes. Because of its 'social flavours' teams can have an unlimited number of players and this type of competition is becoming more popular within Waiouru and other local district. A mixed toumament will mean more participation and an enjoyable competition. If you are interested register your team with Sgt Pedro Vaney Physical Training Wing, Waiouru phone 56-111 extension 7110. Entries to Sgt Vaney last week in February.
