OHAKUNE'S FIJIAN MANGOES OVER DONE

Mangoes which may have contained fruitfly larvae made a brief visit to Ohakune last week, before being swooped on by Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries officers. An alarm was raised over the Fijian fruit after part of the consignment was found infested, and all other produce from the consignment was ordered to be destroyed. The Ohakune bound fruit, which had not been put out for display, was sealed by supermarket staff and later incinerated by a MAF officer.
