School owns police station

The Ohakune Police Station belongs to the Ministry of Education. That is according to ministry records, Ruapehu College principal Harry Cast discoverfid last week. Mr Cast was given a list of college properties after the school house rents were reviewed and 17 Rata Street was on the list. He said he hasn't decided which teacher will move into the school house/police station yet (but quickly followed this statement with another: that he doesn't intend to reposes the house!) The police department recently spent $150,000 on the station. Mr Cast said it will be up to the ministries to sort out who owns the building.
