Raetihi swimming season starts
The Raetihi Swimming Club season starts this Saturday, 25 November and swimming club starts on Tuesday 28 November. The Raetihi complex consists of three pools catering for toddler, learners, and competent swimmers and divers. The club wants to create a friendly family atmosphere, and on opening day information on a number of family programmes will be available. Programmes such as learn-to-swim, swimming club, adult learn-to-swim, and swimming sessions for expectant
mothers. A posfcible programme is "swimmercise" in keep fit classes. To show swimming club members' progress, a large board will be mounted at the pool with times recorded. As for diving, the club has New Zealand champions, among its members. Volunteer custodians are required for the pool and swimming instructors are always welcome. Hours are: weekdays 3-4.45pm; weekends and holidays 24.45pm, business people and mothers-to-be 12-12. 45pm. Night
opening is to be reviewed. Pool rules include: "no togs, no swimming!" (swimmers are not permitted to wear tops or shorts -over their togs, or wear tops and shorts as togs), no running and no dangerous behaviour, which the club organisers say covers everything from loud stereos to unruly conduct. Prices are: children 50c daily, season ticket $10; adults $1 daily, season ticket $15; family season ticket $25; spectator $1. Adults with non-swimmers do not pay.
