LACK OF PROGRESS WITH WAIOURU MARAE

The people of Waiouru deserve and need a Maon cultural centrepoint of their own, according to the Commander of ATG Colonel Phil Maguire. He said he is concerned with the lack of progress with the Marae. Colonel Maguire commented that a vibrant living marae is most desirable and regional disputes over appropriate carving etc., must be resolved if the community it serves is to benefit. Colonel Maguire intends to bring together interested parties to reach an acceptable solution. He said that the marae must be completed soon and that the people of Waiouru deserve it.
