World day for children

Raetihi's playcentre echoed to the patter of tiny feet as youngsters "walked their way across the world" (on a map) to help commemorate International Childrens Day. At the top of the map the children signed their

names. Events of the day included making hats with faces on them to represent the people of the world, painting and building, creating globes of the world from playdough and, most important of all,

morning tea. The tea cortsisted of various foods identifying countries around the globe - bananas from Equador, raisins from California, corn chips from Mexico and rice, complete with chop sticks representing the Asian countries.
