Bowls begins
Ohakune Bowling Club played host to men's teams from nearby areas on their opening day tournament on Sunday. Eighteen teams, including some from Owhango, Manunui, Turangi, Taumarunui, Taihape and Raetihi competed, with Taumarunui taking the top prize. Runner up was a Turangi team.
